GHTC issues statement on R&D for epidemic diseases at HHS WHA listening session

GHTC issued a statement at the US Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) World Health Assembly (WHA) Stakeholder Listening Session highlighting the critical role new tools play in epidemic preparedness. The statement, issued with PATH, calls on the US government to support regulatory capacity building and harmonization efforts with the World Health Organization and efforts by the Coalition for Epidemic Preparedness, as well as notes the necessity of developing affordable and available tools in order to combat potentially epidemic diseases in low-resource settings, where outbreaks most often occur.

GHTC issues statement on WHO R&D observatory, pooled fund at HHS WHA listening session

GHTC issued a statement at the US Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) World Health Assembly (WHA) Stakeholder Listening Session supporting the rapid establishment and full funding for the World Health Organization (WHO) Global Observatory on Health Research and Development, as well as ongoing efforts to establish a pooled fund. The statement, issued with PATH, also calls for transparency to ensure the fund’s foundation is sound science and public health.

Devex features G20 "Call to Action" co-developed by GHTC

Devex featured the "Call to Action" co-developed by GHTC and other members, urging the G20 to invest in tools and innovations to combat global issues, such as pandemics, poverty-related and neglected diseases (PRNDs), and antimicrobial resistance (AMRs). The report also highlights the events at the G20 health innovation meeting in Berlin, Germany on April 28.
