GHTC issues statement on R&D for epidemic diseases at HHS WHA listening session
GHTC issued a statement at the US Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) World Health Assembly (WHA) Stakeholder Listening Session highlighting the critical role new tools play in epidemic preparedness. The statement, issued with PATH, calls on the US government to support regulatory capacity building and harmonization efforts with the World Health Organization and efforts by the Coalition for Epidemic Preparedness, as well as notes the necessity of developing affordable and available tools in order to combat potentially epidemic diseases in low-resource settings, where outbreaks most often occur.
