GHTC signs letter of support for new pandemic preparedness program at FDA

GHTC signed onto a letter, organized by 1Day Sooner, to Secretary of the Department of Health and Human Services Xavier Becerra, in support of the US Food and Drug Administration's (FDA's) proposal to create an Emerging Pathogens Preparedness Program within FDA's Center for Biologics Evaluation and Research, especially in light of the reauthorization of the Pandemics and All-Hazards Preparedness Act (PAHPA) and the intensified national and global focus on pandemic preparedness.

GHTC joins open letter to world leaders calling for pandemic action

GHTC signed onto an open letter, organized by the Pandemic Action Network, to the president and members of the 78th United Nations General Assembly urging action ahead of the United Nations High-Level Meeting on Pandemic Prevention, Preparedness, and Response.

GHTC submits written input to the WHO clinical trial guidance public consultation

GHTC submitted the following comments in response to a World Health Organization (WHO) public consultation seeking input on its draft guidance for best practices for clinical trials. WHO is developing this guidance in response to the adoption by the 75th World Health Assembly of a resolution on strengthening clinical trials to provide high-quality evidence on health interventions and to improve research quality and coordination.

GHTC sends letter to OMB encouraging support for global health R&D in FY25

GHTC submitted a letter to the White House Office of Management and Budget (OMB) highlighting the critical role of US programs that support global health research and development (R&D) and encouraging continued support for this important work in the fiscal year 2025 (FY25) budget request, including the creation of a new Supporting Innovative Global Health Technologies Fund at the US Agency for International Development.

GHTC responded to Senator Ben Cardin's (D-MD) request for information (RFI) on strengthening global health systems through local partnerships post-pandemic by emphasizing the need to invest in innovative product development and the broader innovation ecosystem, as well as strengthening research and manufacturing capacities, especially in low- and middle-income countries.
