GHTC delivers statement on WHO R&D observatory, pooled fund at WHA

GHTC delivered a statement at the 70th World Health Assembly (WHA) calling for the rapid operationalization and full funding for the World Health Organization Global Observatory on Health Research and Development and supporting efforts to establish a health R&D pooled fund. The statement, which was issued in partnership with the Global Health Council and PATH, also encourages exploration of innovative funding sources to attract new funding for the observatory and pooled fund and calls for continued transparency to ensure these operations are grounded in sound science and public health.

GHTC delivers statement on antimicrobial resistance at WHA

GHTC delivered a statement at the 70th World Health Assembly (WHA) welcoming global political commitments to combat antimicrobial drug resistance (AMR) and calling for these efforts to prioritize R&D for new tools. The statement, which was issued in partnership with the Global Health Council, PATH, and the American Academy of Pediatrics, also welcomes the establishment of the Global Antimicrobial Surveillance System and urges WHO to monitor progress by member states in implementing national AMR actions plans to promote accountability.

GHTC delivers statement on R&D for epidemic disease at WHA

GHTC delivered a statement at the 70th World Health Assembly (WHA) highlighting the critical role new tools play in epidemic preparedness. The statement, issued in partnership with the Global Health Council and PATH, calls on the World Health Organization and member states to support regulatory capacity building and harmonization efforts, as well as coordinated approaches to develop new technologies through entities like the Coalition for Epidemic Preparedness.
