GHTC submitted feedback on white paper released by Senator Lamar Alexander (R-TN), chair of the Senate Health, Education, Labor and Pensions Committee, outlining proposals to shape pandemic preparedness legislation to be considered by the committee this year. GHTC provided a number of policy recommendations to strengthen the health R&D ecosystem, including improving coordination between R&D agencies and increasing funding for R&D for naturally-occurring threats at the Biomedical Advanced Research and Development Authority.

GHTC has opened nominations for its 2020 Innovating for Impact Awards. Now in its fourth year, this initiative celebrates the partnerships and policymakers driving global health innovation. The nomination deadline is July 31, 2020.
