GHTC joins statement to the World Health Assembly on the global malaria strategy

GHTC joined a civil society statement to the 74th World Health Assembly outlining the transformative progress achieved in developing and facilitating access to malaria prevention and treatment tools through the World Health Organization (WHO) Global Technical Strategy for Malaria 2016–2030. The statement, issued through the Medicines for Malaria Venture and PATH, urges WHO and member states to address the fragility of health systems and increase investments to drive innovation and uptake of tools, including through more efficient processes for prequalification of products and revision of guidelines.

GHTC joins statement to World Health Assembly on health emergencies and preparedness

GHTC joined the Global Health Council in its statement to the 74th World Health Assembly calling on the World Health Organization (WHO) and member states to prioritize R&D capacity strengthening within global frameworks to strengthen pandemic preparedness. The statement specifically urges WHO and member states to prioritize regional research and manufacturing capacity, increase International Health Regulation compliance, and strengthen medical and pharmaceutical supply chains in advance of health emergencies.
