GHTC provides input on Cures 2.0 legislation

GHTC provided input, via the advocacy group Research!America, on the draft 21st Century Cures 2.0 legislation being advanced by US Reps. Diana DeGette (D-CO) and Fred Upton (R-MI). GHTCs input focused on how a new Advanced Research Projects Agency for Health (ARPA-H) could accelerate R&D for poverty-related and neglected diseases, an area of recognized market failure.

GHTC joins letter urging US to support increase in assessed contributions to WHO

GHTC endorsed a letter encouraging the US government to support recommendations, which were outlined in a report from the World Health Organization's (WHO) Working Group on Strengthening WHO Preparedness and Response to Health Emergencies, calling for increasing the share of assessed contributions to the WHO's base budget to 50 percent by 2029.
