Congressman Brian Fitzpatrick (PA-01), Congresswoman María Elvira Salazar (FL-27), and Congresswoman Chrissy Houlahan (PA-06) introduced the Supporting Innovative Global Health Technologies (SIGHT) Act of 2023, which would establish a disease-agnostic research and development program at the US Agency for International Development, in the House of Representatives.
GHTC signed onto a letter, led by the Johns Hopkins Center for Health Security and signed by more than 100 stakeholder groups, calling on Senate Majority Leader Charles Schumer, Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell, House Speaker Mike Johnson, and House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries to include a comprehensive five-year reauthorization of the Pandemics and All-Hazards Preparedness Act (PAHPA) in moving legislation this year.
