Nature explores vaccines in latest issue
May 27, 2011 -- The May 26 issue of Nature addresses the development, importance, and impact of vaccines both in the United States and abroad. The issue includes stories about vaccination for polio and measles as well as HIV research and vaccine safety. Journal editors state that vaccines, “are responsible for some of the world’s greatest public health triumphs” and explains that many challenges face the vaccine community, including funding limitations and public misconceptions about vaccine safety. The journal issue explores a number of health advances resulting from the deployment of life-saving vaccines and explores the potential of new vaccines for HIV, malaria, and other diseases in the future.
