President Obama, world leaders highlight global health, innovation
Leaders from the Group of Eight nations, in partnership with other countries and organizations, at their recent summit pledged $7.3 billion for maternal and child health efforts worldwide. The Muskoka Initiative calls for increased access to maternal health tools, including contraceptives and family planning, as well as scaled-up efforts to prevent child deaths. Also at the summit, President Obama outlined his approach to foreign aid, which includes a focus on “game-changing innovations” such as health technologies. See the links below for more information.
