Drug resistance accelerating worldwide, report finds
A new report from the Center for Global Development finds that increasing drug resistance worldwide is compromising efforts to treat global health diseases such as HIV/AIDS, malaria, tuberculosis, dysentery, and respiratory infections that can lead to pneumonia. The report calls on the World Health Organization to lead efforts among a wide variety of stakeholders—including the pharmaceutical industry, governments, philanthropies that buy and distribute medicines, hospitals, pharmacies, and patients—to address the issue.
