Companies tackle TB diagnostic, drug development
The company Guardian Technologies has developed a system that automatically scans microscope slides for the tuberculosis bacillus in an effort to improve the diagnostic abilities of laboratory systems in some developing countries. Meanwhile, the pharmaceutical company Pfizer has entered into a new agreement with MicuRx Pharmaceuticals and Cumencor Pharmaceuticals to develop new TB therapies.
