Global health groups call on US trade representative to ease drug access in developing countries
Several global health organizations, such as Medecins Sans Frontieres, recently testified at a US trade panel hearing on drug access in developing countries. The groups are calling on the US trade representative, Ron Kirk, to make it easier for developing countries to access generic drugs without the penalties associated with violating intellectual property rights.
