The GHTC lauched a new blog: Breakthroughs earlier this month. In the coming weeks and months, we’ll share photos, videos, and interviews with the heroes who have dedicated their lives to global health—from researchers in remote spots around the world, to policymakers right here in the US. We’ll show you the amazing work our 40 coalition members are doing to help people around the globe and keep you informed about the policy changes in Washington, DC that impact these issues.

Promising results from malaria vaccine trial

 

 The first results from a large-scale Phase 3 trial of the RTS,S malaria vaccine published online in the New England Journal of Medicine (NEJM), show the vaccine candidate provides young African children with significant protection against clinical and severe malaria.

Agency spotlight: USAID

 

Earlier this month, the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) released its five-year strategy, or Policy Framework for 2011-2015, which includes several global development priorities such as global health and innovation for new health tools.
