GHTC photo reception highlights research breakthroughs in Kenya
Earlier this month, the GHTC hosted a photo reception that highlighted global health research projects in Kenya supported by US Government agencies such as the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the US Agency for International Development (USAID). The event featured Dr. Ariel Pablos-Méndez, assistant administrator for USAID’s Global Health Bureau, Dr. Robert Breiman, country director for CDC-Kenya, and Dr. Kayla Laserson, director of the Kenya Medical Research Institute/CDC Field Research Station. Speakers stressed that the evidence of families benefiting from past research breakthroughs reinforces the need to sustain support for ongoing research efforts, which are on the verge of producing more tools that will save lives around the world.
