Lancet series examines malaria control and eradication
October 29, 2010 -- A new series in the Lancet examines issues surrounding the control and elimination of malaria, including research for new health tools such as vaccines, drugs, diagnostics, and insecticides. In one paper in the series, Lancet editors Pam Das and Richard Horton write, “One practical way forward may be to start at the edges—that is, to begin to shrink the malaria map. This strategy, combined with aggressive control in countries enduring the largest burdens of malarial disease and intensive research to improve currently available diagnostics, drugs, insecticides, and vaccines, could produce tangible progress towards elimination.” See the links below for more information.
