Sabin, inventor of the oral polio vaccine and lifelong crusader against poverty and preventable disease. Sabin is committed to extending the full benefits of immunization to all people, regardless of who they are or where they live. Sabin has recently welcomed a major grant to spur innovation toward a universal influenza vaccine.

GHTC works to save and improve lives by encouraging the research and development of essential health technologies. We are a coalition of more than 25 nonprofit organizations advancing policies to accelerate the creation of new drugs, vaccines, diagnostics, and other health tools that bring healthy lives within reach for all people.

Why we're needed

Health technologies have the potential to save millions of lives. New tools are needed to slow the global threat of diseases, including HIV/AIDS, malaria, tuberculosis, and neglected tropical diseases, and tackle many other pressing health needs. For diseases and conditions primarily affecting people in the world’s poorest places, there is little to no commercial market to spur R&D. Strong investment and innovative solutions are needed to catalyze the development of new technologies to bring health and opportunity within reach for all people.
